<br />
The photo was posted on <a href="http://boingboing.net/2014/08/15/binder-clip-sphere.html">boingboing</a> following a post by the sphere's creator, <a href="http://www.reddit.com/user/eduardoballestero">Eduardo Ballestero</a>, on Reddit:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXwUylYyfUYV4jo-Pfj-OlUudkRtYqQGEZQEm6xkz5A1p95zkDTw6LM0WCeT2mNhvYhOetL8G-jiNRMscDAVlAoapaHvbt2qZmiqfBwwTn4CacjCj8C9JeRZ6M10NtFltmjQZw-xcf2R4/s1600/binder-clip-sphere-eduardo-ballestero.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXwUylYyfUYV4jo-Pfj-OlUudkRtYqQGEZQEm6xkz5A1p95zkDTw6LM0WCeT2mNhvYhOetL8G-jiNRMscDAVlAoapaHvbt2qZmiqfBwwTn4CacjCj8C9JeRZ6M10NtFltmjQZw-xcf2R4/s400/binder-clip-sphere-eduardo-ballestero.jpg" /></a></div><br />
He says on Reddit that it's sturdy enough to toss back and forth, though it does hurt a bit.<br />
<br />
What a thing of beauty! If Eduardo does post the instructions as he said he would, that would be most awesome!<br />

Naturally, the crocheted guards are held on to the fenders by binder clips! If you follow the link and check out the other photos, you'll see that the clips are coordinated with the fender colours. <br />

<br />
<br /><br />

However, I do sometimes use it if I need to put notes in front of me while I'm riding.<br />

Still not to many fan club members, but that's not a problem.<br /><br />If you're like me and you've regularly got a carabiner on your belt, you can use a binder clip to hold onto a DVD case or paperback novel, keeping your hands free for other things.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX7TrEZQEGcw8jY9rWvH4uVS8M3KmWiVEE34yCQW2eIQv-xLX6uMlE8Y250dbG95FXUuMgKtYGhyphenhyphenhwe6_Q21nJnKl3hK3eyh7g4JoQ3Vv3EJOGQJOtuIwMgJxBdO27SbRsJAcF1l3qyFs/s1600/IMGP23641.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX7TrEZQEGcw8jY9rWvH4uVS8M3KmWiVEE34yCQW2eIQv-xLX6uMlE8Y250dbG95FXUuMgKtYGhyphenhyphenhwe6_Q21nJnKl3hK3eyh7g4JoQ3Vv3EJOGQJOtuIwMgJxBdO27SbRsJAcF1l3qyFs/s400/IMGP23641.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5589653216364633666" /></a>Send me your binder clip stories and ideas for uses, and maybe I'll get around to actually posting some of them one of these days. Enjoy!<br /><br />- RG>RealGrouchyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09531673943200546692noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168064396752058634.post-92177658194948421762010-04-10T06:29:00.003-04:002010-04-10T06:43:51.500-04:00Creating the Fan Club HeaderWhat better inauguration than a "making of" clip for the beautiful BCFC header.<br />
<br />
I started by layout out a screen on the floor to act as a clean background, then dumping a box of assorted binder clips onto it:<br />
<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5458447773220836370" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAOF6KulEyKQ954lK2d1KlhBRSvmtBiFTwgvje629gzbfEWDcUohOPertRinccgsAhcEd68JZ9B0BBJwTX27CA51hKfQl6hHsDCNevwvVUV3fj0__0OXPNu2ocY1O-i0bWES1Wa46yE-c/s400/IMGP18662.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 400px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 300px;" /><br />
Next I took some photos. Not nearly enough, it turns out, but it resulted in a couple decent stock photos of binder clips, like this one:<br />
<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5458447798007209762" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiPX_dF-jkI_1gPfC7SjauZhIiYyZ0Y3Dufn6X2Rn-AbGfH9bROUgazGvCpJibebOjznTpMaJZA1fQLQyWgV59d-7qQIp4275FWFNzB1O-ACaw2AXyiwcZrQV4z9iNgzYeML6MlOyP54E/s400/IMGP18656.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 300px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" />I plucked out the rubber bands, and pulled out the smaller coloured clips. These would be sprinkled on top to make it look like there are more (just like in Parliament!)<br />
<br />
From there, it's a matter of snapping another photo or two:<br />
<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5458447780812990706" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCIDbSevHvo8ui4Ke1RfGYru_MoCTDVT0kicUgDT_F6_PgoYaohbrF9NRbpTlNahPHbxnjjqmxa7aZvpgQMD3JMY3q5FDhzdHttBZ6GkB3gAdL4MEoAa3IHyLeOfNn-EFGTsgkjsV-PoY/s400/IMGP18660.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 300px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" />Cropping it and adding some text in Picasa:<br />
<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5458447785615354242" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhllBvOeBNXyfnyJE4A__Fm6TA1P-uUQ96SMJdJrKqH8Mw4gW1_PiJeQ75gvGkYXcx1hrMNfwChqaMTrA-xIQfOA9XkeuuW7SHO3cVCj3CRnm7C3svhGiZnLR1BnvX5YJk5EpndVPS1RA/s400/BinderClipFanClubTitle.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 68px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" />Upload it and find a compatible template, and that's it!<br />
<br />
<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhd9zRdxdmW-06NJxIkSuYRQzh2L15Y_oNpAhylZ9UwaI7sP2ldMMiW7srAb_mZVpKys7xtGTjo7CY46uXR4xBeVlTpBhbW7aFi-kY5h7t1Ji_X0zmYz9XArPc1bJuWGPrJniFj2ei6uCRz/s1600/Fansite-screenshot.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 249px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhd9zRdxdmW-06NJxIkSuYRQzh2L15Y_oNpAhylZ9UwaI7sP2ldMMiW7srAb_mZVpKys7xtGTjo7CY46uXR4xBeVlTpBhbW7aFi-kY5h7t1Ji_X0zmYz9XArPc1bJuWGPrJniFj2ei6uCRz/s400/Fansite-screenshot.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5458454569679113218" /></a>Oh, except for cleaning up the pile of binder clips. The easiest and most readily available tool for scooping the clips back into the box was, I kid you not, a <i>clip</i>board!<br />
<br />
